A conversion of a restaurant in an existing building in 1969 into a twin art movie theatre, the design was “avant garde” with a small capacity of 150 for each auditorium.
Located in a small street next to the Champs-Elysees, the Lincoln was so successful that it was decided to convert a screening room into a third auditorium which opened on 5th October 1971 and was designed by architect M. Bernard Ceyssac. The theatre was renovated several times and Dolby sound was installed in the 1980’s. Seating is now provided for 152 in Screen 1, 77 in Screen 2 and 145 in Screen 3.
Run by the Multicine art movie chain operated by Boris Gourevitch since the beginning, this theatre has been renovated again recently (September 2004) and has been renamed the Elysees- Lincoln after the name of the main street close to where it is located. It screens films in their original language versions.
